'The Real Resistance Girls' 
The true story of the women’s secret army (based in the New Forest in World War 2) that inspired Alice’s new series The Resistance Girls.
300 women were handpicked and highly trained to operate hidden bunkers in coastal communities in the event that Britain was invaded during WW2.
Packed with courage, action and intrigue, The Resistance Girls has been a runaway success, but what gave Alice the idea to write the book in the first place, and what real stories of bravery did she uncover while researching it.

Another true tale accompanied by Alice’s signature artwork. This talk covers what happened when Alice took a job as a part-time school librarian to support her dream of becoming a full-time writer. With no previous experience of working in schools, she had a lot to learn. Just as she was finding her feet, lockdown hit and a new adventure began. This is an untold story about a very special school and an unexpected yet delightful development.
